Grading requirements

for children 9 years old and younger

Students, should remember that participation in a grading is a privilege, not a right. 

As children are different from adults both mentally and physically the children syllabus were created by reflecting these differences. 

Some of the higher grades such as brown and black belts are not available for young children.

Junior Kyu 1st Grade - white belt with one black stripe

1 -2 months of training
stances: fudo dachi(prepared stance),
punches/strikes: seiken chudan tsuki(lunge punch), seiken jodan tsuki (high lunge punch)
blocks: seiken jodan uke(upper block), 
kicks: hiza-geri(knee kick), mae-geri (front kick),

Junior Kyu 2nd Grade - white belt with two black stripes

3 months from the previous belt promotion
stances:  zenkutzu Dachi (front stance )
punches/strikes: ,gyaku tsuki (reverse punch)
blocks:seiken mae gedan barai (downward block)
kicks:mae geri jodan chusoku front kick -head level), mae chusoku keage( rising front kick)

10th Kyu.      -   orange belt

3  months of training from the previous belt promotion
stances: fudo dachi(prepared stance), yoi dachi(ready stance), zenkutzu dachi(forward leaning stance),
punches/strikes: oi tsuki(lunge punch), morote tsuki( double punch), ago uchi(chin strike)
blocks: seiken jodan uke(upper block), seiken mae gedan barai (downward block)
kicks: hiza-geri(knee kick), mae-geri (front kick), kin-geri (groin kick)
